Rejoice, garden lovers! RTÉ One's Super Garden returns to our screens tonight, with five new budding designers battling it out to secure a coveted show garden spot at Ireland's premier garden festival, Bord Bia's Bloom.

Viewers can expect to see a new home for the series, with the incredible gardens being planted in Riverside in Kells, a new social housing development built by Meath County Council.

Our five competitors will each be given an identical plot to create a show garden for the residents. They must do so in three short weeks on a budget of €15,000, which includes €5,000 for Irish grown planting.

The final results will be judged by judges Brian Burke, Monica Alvarez and Garry Graham, and the winner will secure a coveted show garden spot at Bloom.

Let's meet this week's designer and family...

Odhran Field

At just 22 years of age, Odhran Field is the youngest designer in this year’s competition. The Dalkey man has recently graduated from horticulture college, but can he convert his book smarts into practical garden design?

He may know everything about plants but his Achilles heel is set to be construction and hard landscaping.

Odhran has also set up a small cut flower business, with the aim of producing for the florist trade. The young man says he is super excited about taking part in Super Garden:

"I love seeing my designs take shape, I am always looking to learn and improve my skills, and an experience like this is an incredible opportunity to do so".

Odhran has plenty of helpers when it comes to implementing his designs. His dad Paul is a coded welder and lifelong metal worker and will be helping him for the duration of the competition.

This Super Garden hopeful will be working on the garden of homeowner Lisa Tormay and her three children. Lisa is a Special Needs Assistant who is looking for a special hideaway and some 'me’ time in her new garden.

Overlooked by several neighbours, Odhran has his work cut-out turning this overlooked back-garden into a sanctuary space for Lisa.

He has two weeks to design and three weeks to build a garden that will give Lisa the garden she’s looking for and impress the judges?
