A Kerry man has won the title of 'Westmeath Bachelor 2022' - as chosen by judges Louis Walsh, Anne Doyle, Doireann Garrihy and Nathan Carter.

As well as bringing some of country's best musical talent to the heart of the Midlands for the May Bank Holiday weekend (with performances from The Blizzards, Gavin James, Cliona Hagan and more), the Westmeath Bachelor Festival also saw the Finale of the Westmeath Bachelor Competition.

Following a Rose of Tralee type format, it was time for the men of Ireland to shine, with each contestant being interviewed on stage before performing their chosen talent in front of a panel of celebrity judges.

As well as earning the coveted title, the winner would win a trip to Ibiza, and a donation to their chosen charity as well as a stunning bespoke trophy made by local man Richie Clarke.

In front of a packed theatre in Mullingar, 13 finalists showcased their charisma and charm for the celebrity judging panel of Louis Walsh, Anne Doyle, Doireann Garrihy and Nathan Carter.

In the end it was Kerry man, Bryan Murphy, who took the crown.

Although the judges revealed their task was an extremely tough one, Barry was the unanimous choice thanks to his warm and charismatic personality and his performance of an upbeat medley on the accordion, which really entertained the audience.

With a farming background and a love of music and entertainment, Bryan spends his time immersed in song writing, gigging and entertaining. He is currently working on his new website; new music and the future is looking bright!
