She's the fashionable presenter behind a slew of television shows, as well as the owner of one of the most delightfully eclectic wardrobes on Instagram, and as the host of a brand new chat show on RTÉ, Angela Scanlon is about to become even more of a style inspiration to us all.
As the host of Angela Scanlon's Ask Me Anything, which promises plenty of surprises and revelations when Angela chats with guests who have agreed to be asked about absolutely anything, we've no doubt that the Irish beauty will turn heads with her weekly outfits, but for the RTÉ New Season Launch, she went with the Covid-10 work uniform: trackies and a nice top.

"I've gotten quite into tracksuits but I don't think I'll get away with that on a Saturday night!" she joked as she settled down with a cuppa for the interview, her black tracksuit bottoms actually pairing well with her structural black and pink top.
As a fond lover of Irish fashion, Scanlon has always championed Irish designers, which we hope will continue on her new show. "I think there's amazing talent [in Ireland]", she says.
"I started as a stylist, I'm always very passionate about supporting Irish brands and I think they're some of the best brands in the world, and in a way I feel somewhat out of touch and I'm always really excited when I'm introduced to new brands that have come out of Ireland. That's definitely something I'd like to do on the show, to wear new brands."
The last 18 months have changed how we all dress, and for Scanlon the biggest tweak has been an awareness of consumption. "Maybe we're slightly more conscious of just how much we used to consume", she says. "It was a lot of people who'd gotten into that habit of every week getting into a new outfit for a new occasion and that just seems so wasteful now.

"That's quite a privileged position, to buy something that you won't reuse and reuse, but my motto has always been buy things you absolutely love, wherever they're from. It's less about the brand because trying to point people towards sustainable brands is sometimes an unrealistic thing, from a budget point of view."
"You buy a top and you wear it to death, that's the best way to wear clothes, or swapping with your friends and giving it a new lease on life."
A quick glance at her Instagram feed makes clear just how unique and stylish Scanlon's outfits are, but the presenter says she doesn't follow trends as much as she used to. "When I worked as a stylist I was always very on top of the trends", she says. "
"I think fashion has changed and people are less inclined to follow trends slavishly from season to season and they just wear what they love and what they feel good in. I think maybe the pandemic has helped people to understand that, or we've gotten comfortable. I will not be wearing heels if I have to stand up!
"I think it's about really wearing what you love rather than feeling like somebody is prescribing a look for winter and you have to wear it. It's about being comfortable and confident in your own skin. Do you!"

Dressing up is clearly a salve for Scanlon and a creative outlet, but how else does she keep the head during a year like we've just had?
"I felt like I wasn't completely out of work for a few months", she says. "It's more the pace, the pace of real life that I forgot about! Drop-offs and pick-ups and actually socialising, which I was quite happy to opt out of. I really miss the sleep that I got and the quietness. It felt rock n' roll to have lunch in the middle of the day without anyone annoying ya!"
For her, meditation is what she turns to, and "had been dipping in and out for years, much like yoga". "I had the DVD back in the day and figured I was a yogi but never did it. So I liked the idea of meditation but never really stuck to it. But I had a routine for maybe the first time in my life and when I don't and when I miss it, I get a bit frazzled. I also love a salt bath!"
