We're days away from the last quarter final of Ireland's Fittest Family and Anna Geary's competitive streak is still out in force.

Speaking on the Jennifer Zamparelli show on RTÉ 2FM, the sporting champ and presenter caught up on life in lockdown, appreciating the small things and the thrilling final episodes of Ireland's Fittest Family.

"It's like Groundhog Day for a lot of people and [it's to] acknowledge that sometimes. Look, I'm dressed, I'm up, even though you can't see me I promise I'm not in my pyjamas! It counts for something these days to get up and get changed", she told Jen.

"For a lot of people it's doing the small things everyday. I will never take meeting my friends for coffee or going for a browse in the shops with my mam for granted ever again."

As for shacking up and staying sane with family, partners and spouses in lockdown, Anna was candid on the reality of being fed up with each other.

"To be honest, what I say is even when you go on holidays with your best friends, you can be the best of friends and share everything, and you know at the end of the holiday you're like, 'yeah I won't see you know for a few weeks.'"

"There's only so many things you can say," she says, "even though I talk for Ireland!" And like most of us, she's leaning on Netflix and a constant stream of shows to distract herself and keep things at least a little interesting.

One show she's certainly thinking about lately is Ireland's Fittest Family. With the second quarter final airing on Sunday, it's getting more serious than ever before and the coach is living for the final.

With one of her families, the Doyles, eliminated in last week's episode, Anna will be cheering on her last team, the Brackens, this weekend and by all accounts the competition is about to heat up.

"Last Sunday, you might have thought it was tense", she told Jen. "Wait until you see this Sunday's episode, it is, you will be hiding behind the couch... It is so exciting."
