Former President Mary McAleese meets with cookbook author, model, and lifestyle influencer Roz Purcell in the second series of All Walks of Life, airing tonight at 20:30 on RTÉ One.

Former President Mary McAleese returns with a second series of All Walks of Life, in which she treks some of Ireland's most sacred and spectacular pilgrim routes with a fascinatingly diverse selection of walking companions including Patrick Kielty, Roz Purcell, Leo Varadkar, and Olympic athlete, Ciara Mageean.

Along the way, each guest discusses how their life has been shaped by their values and beliefs (or lack of them). On tonight's episode, our host will meet with Roz Purcell, an influencer who won Miss Universe Ireland in 2010 before going on to create a series of Natural Born Feeder cookbooks, the Bite Back podcast, and her most recent venture - the Hike Life group.

Roz, who is no stranger to the Tipperary hills near her family's farm, joins Mary on Sliabh na mBan – the mountain of the women – a place shrouded in mythology and folklore from ancient times.

Over the past number of years, Purcell has openly discussed her past battles with body image and self-doubt and how they have inspired her to become a campaigner for healthy living. Tonight, she delves into how those insecurities came about.

"I was really unsure of myself all the way up until the Junior Cert," Roz tells Mary. "I really only had one friend but I think a lot of people struggle with that in secondary school, especially in all-girls schools. It could be quite competitive in everything - sports, looks...

"I think the only thing we weren't competitive about was probably studies," she adds, laughing.

"I grew up with this idea that women were in competition with each other, and I think that came from being in an all-girls school and then I went into an industry that kind of pitched women up against each other.

"It wasn't until I was 25 that I saw the importance of supporting other women and being comfortable in your own skin to do that."
