Kathryn Thomas joined Ray D'Arcy on RTÉ Radio 1 to reveal Operation Covid Nation, a new spin on Operation Transformation, is coming to RTÉ One in April 2020.
Across Ireland, people are having to adapt their lives in order to adhere to social distancing and self-isolation. These new measures mean that they are living apart from family and friends, stepping away from the normal routine of everyday life.
In response to this, the Operation Transformation team have put a plan in place to help people stay healthy, in both mind and body.
OT host Kathryn Thomas, along with her team of experts Aoife Hearne, Karl Henry, Dr. Eddie Murphy and Dr. Sumi Dunne, will be helping people across Ireland deal with the reality of self-isolation and how we can all play our part in supporting the most vulnerable people in our communities.
"We are bringing Operation Transformation back," Kathryn Thomas told Ray D'Arcy on RTÉ Radio 1.
"It's going to be on screen in mid-April and we're calling the show Operation Covid Nation and, essentially, this is a conversation that happened between the HSE, RTÉ, VIP production company, myself and the experts on the show.
"It was agreed that it was a good idea for people to have a weekly platform where they could stay connected, see what's happening in different households, see how different households are coping with the new norm - that's what we're trying to do."
The show
The OT team wants to hear from households from across the country to capture how they are coping behind closed doors since Covid-19 arrived in Ireland.
Whether you are living alone, in a house share, working from home, adapting to home school your children and have chosen to self-isolate our Operation Transformation experts want to support and help you.
How will it work?
In the end, four households will be chosen for this RTÉ One series, and the production will install unmanned cameras in your home to see how each household is living day to day. Each household will be paid an appearance fee for participation.
The strict social distancing guidelines will be followed by all production team members to avoid any contact with the household members.
