White cotton Christmas? Kim K's decorations baffle followers

Once the embodiment of modern Hollywood glamour, Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West have carved out a lifestyle that is uniquely minimalist.

Their monochrome outfits, church-like home in Hidden Hills in Los Angeles and West's spartan Sunday services all show a fondness for sleek and simple style, but their Christmas decorations have left followers scratching their heads.

In a recent tour of her home, the businesswoman and reality television star showed off her festive front garden, with trees wrapped with fairy lights lining the driveway and adding a romantic and chic glow to her home.

However, once you stepped inside, gone were the fairy lights  - except for the XL Christmas tree in the living room - and not an inch of tinsel, not one bauble, nary even a sparkle here or there could be found. Instead, the star lined her museum-like corridors with cotton wool trees.

Bunched in alcoves, lining light-filled hallways and accented pillars circling their spacious living room, the trees come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and certainly look every bit the adorable Dr Seuss creation.

Explaining over the video, Kim says that they were "pretty custom trees we did for our Christmas eve party last year," when the plush creations were used as a backdrop for photos. "I love these, they're so whimsical", she said. "Whoville, but all white."

Always here for a sustainable moment, we respect the star's choice to reuse her decorations from last year, when the couple hosted a lavish dinner, creatively designed by West.

The designs were by Kathy Temin, an artist who works with textile sculpture and who created the White Forest: White Christmas collection for the couple last year.

So, could this be the end of the classic red and green Christmas? Is tinsel cancelled? Only time will tell if Kim's Dr. Seuss fantasy will catch on, though we do imagine bumping into cotton wool trees is must less painful than taking your eye out with artificial pine needles...
