It's a bumper week for Royal Family watchers. With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stealing hearts on their royal tour of Africa, the Royal Family has announced that Princess Beatrice is engaged to her boyfriend, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Beatrice's parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson made the announcement today, sharing that their eldest daughter will marry her property tycoon boyfriend in 2020.

The pair have been dating since 2018, with Edoardo - the son of Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, a former British Olympian - proposing during their holiday to Italy earlier this month.

In a statement from Buckingham Palace, the couple said: "We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement.

"We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to be married.

"We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness."

Princess Eugenie, who married her husband Jack Brooksbank in a stunning ceremony in Windsor Castle in October 2018, shared a heartfelt message to the couple on Instagram, writing that they were "meant to be".

"Beabea - wow!", she wrote. "I'm so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It's been a long time coming and you two are meant to be", adding that she snapped the relaxed and romantic photos in the post.

With her sparkling diamond ring front and centre - featuring a central round-cut diamond with intricate detailing on either side - Beatrice looked every inch the fairy tale princess, in a stunning teal dress emblazoned with flowers in shades of pink, purple and cream.

Beatrice's parents also released a statement, saying: "We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride.

Beatrice is the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh's granddaughter and is ninth in line to the throne, and a cousin of the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex.

If this impromptu engagement photo shoot is anything to go by, the pair's nuptials will be a romantic and swoon-worthy affair and we're already looking forward to it!
