The days might be getting shorter but there are still plenty of hours to have fun this weekend.
While a lot of venues have started planning their Halloween and Christmas events, there are still plenty of things to do until then.

2) Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival
The Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival is a fantastic, annual fun-filled festival with kiddies disco, food market, bounce and fun zone, planetarium, talent show, dog show and much more.
3) Funderland Belfast
Funderland heads to the Titanic Quarter in Belfast this weekend until October 6th with its usual array of fun attractions and thrill rides to suit all the family.

4) Clonmel Applefest
Clonmel Applefest is a four-day feast for the senses celebrating Clonmel's unique sense of place through its food, heritage and nature with a vibrant artistic programme featuring heritage, food, farming, nature, and crafts.
5) Dublin VegFest
Dublin VegFest is the country's biggest vegan food event with a large outdoor area, speakers area, a vegan food village, chill zone and lots more.
6) Clifden Arts Festival
Concluding on Sunday, the 42nd Clifden Community Arts Festival continues this weekend with events including an Inishbofin Field Trip, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, John Sheahan and Michael Howard, Babcock and Baggins and more.

7) Women's Tour at Glasnevin Cemetery
Glasnevin Cemetery host tours on the last Sunday of every month that focus on the legendary women who played a pivotal role in shaping Irish culture and history to whom Glasnevin is home to, including Maud Gonne Mac Bride, Hanna Sheehy-Skeffington and Delia Larkin.
8) Gateway to the City Festival
A free family event takes place on Blessington Street in Dublin on Sunday afternoon with different activities and events such as live musical entertainment, historical walks, a petting farm, vintage carousel, face painting, market stalls and other entertainment.
9) The Firebird | Nenagh Arts Centre
Prince Ivan and his brothers set off in search of the fabled Firebird, which has been stealing golden apples from the royal orchard but Ivan's brothers soon fall by the wayside. A magical telling of the traditional Russian adventure on Sunday afternoon.
10) International Medieval Combat Tournament | Claregalway Castle
The Claregalway Castle Shield, a revival of the medieval foot-combat tournament returns to Claregalway Castle this weekend as well as mounted archery displays, magicians, puppeteers, historic displays and re-enactments, 'have a go' archery and much more at this family-friendly festival.

11) Donegal Bay and Blue Stacks Festival
The 19th annual festival starts this weekend with another packed programme of theatre, music, spectacle and literary events.
12) Dunfanaghy Food Festival
Now in its fourth year, the Dunfanaghy Food Festival continues to grow and this year it will take place over three days this weekend with the event taking place on the Village Green (opposite Arnold’s Hotel) on Saturday from 12-4pm.
13) O'Carolan Harp Festival
The famous composer and harper Turlough O'Carolan was born in Nobber, Co. Meath 1670 and they hold an annual festival in his honour. This year there will be lots of workshops from some of Ireland's top harpists and performances from Helen Davies & Poul Høxbro from Copenhagen, the Meath Harp Ensemble and much more.
14) Monaghan Street Food Festival
This Saturday, a Taste of Monaghan hits the road to the center of the town with a celebration of the ever-changing food scene in Monaghan. Visitors can draw inspiration from demonstrations delivered by a host of talented local chefs who will showcase the rich local produce in creative ways.

1) Dingle Food Festival
A tasty weekend of fun featuring cookery demonstrations, workshops, farmer’s forum, street entertainment, live music, Maperath Mobile Farm and lots of children's events including Kingdom Falconry, The Brickx Club, Teddy Bear Picnic and more.
2) Cork Folk Festival
The thirty-nine-year-old festival returns with performances take place in concert halls, music venues, bars and on the streets next weekend with performers including Cork’s own John Spillane, Jimmy Crowley & Pete Coe, Seamus Begley and more.
3) Dublin Theatre Festival
The Festival runs until 13th October featuring international productions, incredible Irish work including a re-imagined Playboy of the Western World and theatre performances for children with the 24th year of partnership between Dublin Theatre Festival and The Ark.
