If you're looking for your 15 minutes of fame, opportunity has come knocking.

In no time at all the entire country will be cheering on its newest Operation Transformation leaders, following their meal plans and taking part in any of the nationwide fitness events sponsored by the show. But three lucky viewers will have a brief cameo in the programme, and all you have to do is ... walk?

Fitness expert Karl Henry has set his own step challenge, a gentle plan to reach the recommended 10,000 steps in just seven weeks. This is an ideal way to keep fit over the festive season, easing you towards your New Year exercise goals.

Targets:

  • Week 1: 4,000 steps
  • Week 2: 5,000 steps
  • Week 3: 6,000 steps
  • Week 4: 7,000 steps
  • Week 5: 8,000 steps
  • Week 6: 9,000 steps
  • Week 7: 10,000 steps

Not only this, but Karl wants the people taking part in this challenge to share with him just how they're getting their steps in. When it's just walking, some people might be put off as that's what many of us do every day, but with some inventive planning and a dose of fun, it can quickly become an enjoyable and challenging exercise.
