A sensory room and stage on the menu for the Home Rescue team

Architect Róisín Murphy and her team are back with another home transformation, tackling clutter, mess, family squabbles and artistic differences in their efforts to turn chaotic homes into peaceful sanctuaries. This week sees them decamp to Kildare to tackle a snug - in ways both good and bad - family home.

Emily and Dave have spent much of their lives close together, starting during their childhoods when they lived just a few doors from each other on the same street in the Curragh of Kildare and up to today, as they share their family home with their six children. Cosy as this might be, it's surely undone by the amount of clutter now sharing their home with them.

Róisín butts head over her design plans

Tensions are immediately high as Róisín arrives in the door with an ambitious plan to solve the family’s two biggest problems. Her first port of call is to change the hallway from a dumping ground to the welcoming, functional space it ought to be. Next, she'll transform the living room from a no-go area to the ultimate kids' playroom.

But as always, each family brings obstacles as unique as they are. Heidi – one of Dave and Emily’s daughters – has dyspraxia and Róisín is determined to create a special feature in the playroom to accommodate both Heidi’s creativity and her need for a quiet sensory space.

The children get stuck in right away, helping Dad to cull his massive collection of beermats, while the clutter buster crew face one of the largest jobs on the show yet. In the middle of this, Róisín attempts to hustle extra jobs out of the builders, and Peter faces the challenges of creating an enclosed stage.

Yes, you read that right.

Will everything come off without a hitch, or will the show not go on after all? Tune in tonight to find out!
