Brendan O’Connor’s latest TV series, Time Out, asks the big questions about life but the broadcaster himself is still looking for answers in his own life. Donal O’Donoghue meets him in this week's RTÉ Guide. Get a sneak peek below.

Speaking on his life at home, Donal asks what Brendan's children have given him.

"They get me ‘to take my head out of my ass’, they lighten me up and there’s nothing like the love you have for your child, even if it took me a while to get that love.

"And while I don’t want to put this on my kids, they also give me a sense of purpose. I have to look after them and try not to f**k them up.

"I had great parents but there are patterns in me. I look at my children and think of my own childhood and the neuroses I developed around not being a physically co-ordinated sporty person.

"I don’t want them to get the same neuroses. In trying to fix them, do you fix yourself as well?"
