As she gets set to play a summer gig at Trinity College in Dublin on Sunday, July 29, Imelda May talks to Janice Butler about keeping her private life private, the attention around her changing looks, working with Jeff Goldblum and living for the moment. Get a sneak peek at her interview below.
Imelda says she’s at a point in life of living for the moment. There’s no grand plan or strategic career moves; she’s spontaneous by nature and that spills into her work.
"I’m all about living for the moment – my friends and family know me for that," she says.
"I’m not always thinking ahead or thinking career moves.
"I just have this insane joy for music that has stuck with me since I was a teenager and I just love what I do – it’s not for any big plan.
"I’ll jump on a plane at the last minute if it’s something I want to do. I just have a love for life and music."
