The summer holidays have only begun for Primary school children, leaving parents searching for fun activities and events to keep their little ones active.

1) City Spectacular
The festival runs over three days in Dublin this weekend, showcasing the best in international street performance, interactive family activations and workshops, delicious artisan producers and street food from around the world as well as a pet wellness area with D.S.P.C.A.

2) Ennis Street Festival
The Ennis Street Arts Festival continues until Sunday bringing with it more engaging, entertaining and exciting arts and cultural events for the whole family including the Imagination Playground in Monastery Park on Friday, The Urban Wildlife Parade on O'Connell Street on Saturday with the Ennis Street Arts Festival Samba Band and a Street Party and festival market on Sunday in Abbey Street Car Park & Queens and much, much more.

3) Feile Traidphicnic
TraidPhicnic is a festival for traditional music, arts and culture in Spidéal, Co. Galway. The weekend has a range of music from talented musicians in different venues with workshops in various crafts and lots of fun family activities.

4)  Feile Brian Boru
The annual festival, held in the twin towns of Killaloe, Co. Clare & Ballina, Co. Tipperary runs until Sunday with events over the weekend including drama workshops, guided walks, children's art competition, pond dipping and a stunning firework display over the beautiful River Shannon on Saturday night.

5) Trail Kilkenny Outdoor Festival
The inaugural festival runs throughout Kilkenny until 15th July with local activity providers offering tasting sessions and discounts designed for the whole family.

Activities are available including Paddle Boarding with Pure Adventure, Zipline & Octagon in Castlecomer Discovery Park, guided White Water Adventure with Go With The Flow and many more.

6) Earagail Arts Festival
Earagail Arts Festival takes place each July throughout County Donegal with two weeks of music, theatre, visual arts, film, literature, circus & carnival on Ireland’s North West Atlantic seaboard.

7) Groove
One of Ireland’s best family music festivals takes place this weekend in the stunning setting of Killruddery House & Gardens in Bray, Co Wicklow. The two-day festival of music and family fun with live performances from the Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Heather Small and Something Happens.

8) Ballycastle Food Tour
The tour, run by Irish Feast, showcases an amazing array of local, artisan, award winning food & drink in the historical town of Ballycastle. Meet the people who catch, grow, make and bake and taste some of the best local food.

9) Cairde | Sligo Arts Festival 
Cairde Sligo Arts Festival is a unique coming together of artists and audiences in a celebration of imagination and shared experience from 7th - 14th July with a mixture of art, theatre, comedy, talks and music for all ages.

ParkFest on Sunday is a family day out featuring music, theatre, circus; art, craft & science workshops & delicious food from 12pm to 6pm in the Peace Park.

10) Clonmel Junction Arts Festival
The Clonmel Junction Arts Festival concludes this weekend with more summer fun on the banks of the River Suir with free entertainment at the Showgrounds Shopping Centre, free Lego workshops and a free family fun day at Denis Burke Park on Saturday from noon.

11) 4th July Fest Weekend
This year's annual Irish America Celebration in New Ross joins with 73rd All Ireland Pipeband & Drum Major Championships with bands travelling from the USA & Newfoundland for the competition on Saturday in New Ross Town Park.

On Sunday afternoon, there is the 2nd New Ross Health & Fitness Festival, again in Town Park, alongside the search for the Republic of Ireland's Strongest Woman 2018 in the Emerald Isle Strength Games.

12) Carrickroe Welcome Home Festival
The 25th festival takes place all weekend with a Country Night with the Stars including Robert Mizel and Gloria on Thursday night, a 5km run in aid of SOSAD on Friday evening and a Family Fun Day and Tractor Run on Sunday.

13) Wild Air Run
Inflatable obstacle course over 5k in Malahide Castle on Saturday and Sunday, now with water guns to give other runners a soaking.

Suitable for fitness fanatics and families, the huge inflatables test your agility and stamina while the water guns will just be a lot of fun.

Three things to do next week:

1) City Spectacular, Cork
The free family festival moves to Fitzgerald Park in Cork next Saturday and Sunday with creative workshops, family activities and loads of fun.

2) Barretstown Big Picnic
A free family day out highlighting the Barretstown Magic, with pony rides, balloon making, face painting, canoeing, bouncy castles, petting farm, crazy golf and much more including competitions and prizes.

3) St. Anne's Park Rose Festival
The annual Rose Festival returns to St Anne’s Park in Raheny on the next weekend with a mix of live music, arts and crafts, plant sales and lots of  fun children's activities.
