Footballer Stephanie Roche has top foot-ie tips this summer

Irish football star and sports broadcaster Stephanie Roche is currently in rehab from a complicated leg break.

While she is waiting on the sidelines to see if she'll be fit enough to play in the Irish team's Euro Qualifier in August, the Dublin woman is encouraging Irish people to mind their bodies - especially their feet!

"I wear wedges quite a lot, especially on holidays when I'm trying to get my Instagram picture," she laughed.

While the footballer trains hard, she was quick to assure us that when it comes to her Summer holidays, she loves nothing more than dressing up to the nines.

"It [wearing heels] makes you feel a little bit more dressed up when you're going out.

"I know when you're on holidays you're wearing flip-flops all the time and you get bored of it so I try and wear something nice going out"

"Day-to-day at the pool, I'd probably wear Fitflops or something to keep my feet in good shape," she explained.

When the holidays are over and it's time to get back to training, Stephanie says comfort comes first.

"If I had any sort of match or important training session, I wouldn't wear heels - that's being perfectly honest. If I was going out just for dinner with my boyfriend or something like that, maybe I would wear boot heels but they would be quite comfy"

"If I had a match coming up, I wouldn't use heels because you'd be cut to bits. Sometimes it's only little tiny cuts at the back of your heel and then they rub against your boot, it may sound not sore but it's the sorest thing ever when you have to wear football boots all day," she said.

Stephanie Roche spoke to us at the launch of a new foot health campaign for Pamex, the Mayo-based distributor of foot health products, Mycosan and Dermatonics Once.
