The news2day team were at the Junior Entrepreneur Programme showcase at the RDS to give the talented students an opportunity to practice their presenting skills. news2day presenter Zainab Boladale was on hand to share her expertise.
She explained: "The kids are here at the news2day stand having a go at my job. They’re reading the autocue, they’re learning about the skills it takes to be a presenter, and I think a lot of them are having great fun with it. It’s great to see they have so much interest. Some of them are really talented."

She also commented on the number of budding female entrepreneurs participating in the programme.
"I think it’s great that so many of the kids are showing such a keen interest in business. It’s also really amazing to see that as much as there are many future businessmen in the room, there are many future businesswomen. It’s great to see that the girls in there are taking so much more of an initiative as well as the boys," she said.
There was a wide array of products and services showcased on the day with over 3,500 students from across the country taking part.

Francesa and Ben told us about their projects and the roles they played in their respective companies.
Francesca was part of the marketing team for her class company 'Slime World'. Their project involved making and selling slime. She explained, "each of us invested €10 and the total money that we made was €676." They put aside some of the profits for a fun treat for their class.
Ben was part of the financial team for the bookmark company set up by fifth class in St. Brigid’s Boys school in Killester.
"There was all different types of bookmarks, there was monsters, frogs and all animals," he explained.
They sold their bookmarks in their school for 50 cent and made a profit of €120.
