Ahead of Father’s Day, RTÉ sports broadcaster, Darragh Maloney remembers his late father, Pat, and looks forward to a summer of sport, dominated by the World Cup.
We have a sneak peek of his interview which you can read below.
Darragh is married to Louise (they first met as teens) and lives in County Meath with their children, Kate (20), Hannah (16) and Jack (9).
"There’s no book on that either," he says of fatherhood. "Children don’t come with instructions but I’m pretty used to it now after 20 years of practice. Even so, it’s still a work-in-progress; there’s stuff you do right and stuff you do wrong.
"Fatherhood never ceases to amaze me.
"Kate is now in college studying to be a teacher, Hannah is doing her Leaving Certificate next year and Jack will be going into fourth class this September.
"Hannah has played for Meath and is a huge fan of the Royal County.
"Kate is more of a Dub because we lived in Balbriggan for two years when she was born and she also follows Real Madrid or Barcelona."
