For this year's final, Hugh Wallace, Patrick Bradley and Deirdre Whelan headed to Palmerstown House in Kildare for a finale with a difference.

For the first time in the show's history, the judges had the opportunity to meet the contestants face to face before they announced the winner.

The winning home stole the judge’s hearts for its individuality and comfortable style.

Commenting on the winning house, Hugh Wallace said:

"This was a home of creativity, colour, contrast and personality’ while Deirdre Whelan felt the homeowners had ‘created a magical home'."

The winners, Patrick and Roz were blown away by the judge’s choice;

"It’s lovely that it’s recognised as something because, for us, it’s just our home".

The judges travelled the length and breadth of the country throughout the competition, however, it was the Wicklow home with its blend of styles and unique and personal touches that won them over.
