Last year on Room to Improve, Ireland's favourite architect Dermot Bannon was joined by brand new quantity surveyor Lisa O'Brien who replaced Patricia Power after an impressive five-year run.

Sadly, after going head to head with Dermot over budgets and schedules, Lisa has decided to hand in her notice.

Linda Cullen, Executive Producer of Coco Television, told us: "We’re on the hunt for a QS (or two!) to work on the upcoming series of Room to Improve.

"We’ve loved working with Patricia and Lisa over the last number of years and hope to find other talented Quantity Surveyors to come onboard."

Interested in applying? Coco's Linda has this advice: "...Send your CV and any information you think is useful to info@cocotelevision.ie"

What's Lisa going to work on next? She told Independent.ie, that she wants to focus on her off-screen career with Brisin Homes Ltd, where she will be working on residential developments.

"I'm definitely there to help if they need me, but an opportunity to work on a new venture came my way and, while Room to Improve was a great experience, there's a big part of you that has to go back to the day job.

"For Room to Improve, you have to be there 100%."

Despite her departure, we have no doubt that Dermot will be back for another season after the roaring success of the most recent series. Not only did #RoomToImprove constantly trend on social media but Daniel and Majella's episode reached a whopping 722,000 viewers.

Lisa spoke to RTÉ LifeStyle last year to share some top tips which you can check out here and below:

What is the number one thing you wish clients would do to make your job easier?
There is actually no one response for that! Each client is different with different budgets and different properties – the smallest of jobs can be the most problematic.

The role of the QS is a collaborative one with the Architect, Engineer, Client, Builder and Specialist contractors – it’s a lot of fingers in the one pie – a solution orientated approach by all is the easiest way forward.

What advice can you give to someone who has decided to make a major renovation to their home?Where do they start? Get informed of the building process, do a workshop, go to a self-build show and ask the friends and family who have completed a renovation.

Then get a designer/architect and ask for scheme sketch designs and then get a cost plan from these sketches – it saves a lot of time down the line to know the budget very early on in the process.
