Kate and Pete have been together as a couple for almost 11 years but have known each other even longer, having gone to school together.
The two live in a converted chicken shed on a farm in Whitescross, just outside Cork City. Peter is a dairy farmer while Kate owns her own clothes shop, Vanilla Boutique in Fermoy.
After an eight years engagement and three children, Annie May, Tadhg and Florence, the couple are finally ready to get married.
After years of dreaming about their big day, the two have decided that they want to make their nuptials memorable with an alternative wedding celebration, either at home or away.
While they love the idea of having it on their farm, they’re open to another venue, once it breaks away from the traditional same-old. "We want more a party than a wedding," said Kate.
While Peter likes the idea of the farm, he’s a practical man and would prefer to get married in a church so it will feel "more official".

Having experienced weddings in Ireland, they both want something different. And only last year, they went to a wedding abroad which left a lasting memory as it felt like a communal event.
As a family man, Peter worries that having their wedding abroad might mean that some family members won't be able to attend. However, Kate’s dream is to get married on a beach.
And having waited so long, if Kate is presented with a fantastic beach wedding abroad, there’s no doubt Peter would struggle shattering her dream.
