He's made his list and he's checked it twice. All that's left to do now is to enjoy the start of the Christmas holidays this weekend.

We've selected some of our favourites to welcome in the season.
1) Butler House Christmas Garden
Butler House Garden in Kilkenny comes alive this festive season with an enchanting free event for friends and family. Kids will love the toy soldiers, reindeer and the frosty winter pond at the heart of the garden complete with a skating snowman! Inside the house, you will find kids activities, hot chocolate and cookies by the fire.
They are having an open mic night on Friday evening and everyone is invited to sing their favourite Christmas song for the whole garden to enjoy.

2) BuskAid | Using A Beat To Break Down Homelessness
BuskAid is back to rock Waterford City after a hugely successful appeal last year that raised over €4,000! This Christmas 2017 is going to be bigger, better, busier and buskier!
3) Inishowen Gospel Choir Christmas Concert
The Gospel Choir will be performing their own set of Christmas Classics as well as performing alongside some of the region's best original acts. Featuring Neptune M., Great White Lies, Comrade Hat and Velvet Alibi, mulled wine and lot of festive fun!
4) Christmas at Powerscourt Stables
Experience some festive animal magic and meet some unbelievably cute creatures at Powerscourt Estate Christmas Stable. Children and adults alike will adore a trip to the Christmas Stables where they’ll meet an incredible array of furry friends, great and small.
5) EPIC Santa Experience
Mince pies, magical storytelling, and priceless family memories await you at EPIC Santa Experience in the atmospheric vaults of the CHQ Building.
Children of all ages will be thrilled when Mrs Claus and Santa’s elves greet them with a warm welcome, before leading the way to meet Santa Claus in his enchanting grotto.
6) Carols by Candlelight
Get into the seasonal spirit with an exquisite concert of carols and festive classics staged in full 18th Century costume in an evocative candle-lit style setting. Carols by Candlelight features the Dublin Bach Singers and Mozart Festival Orchestra for tow shows in the National Concert Orchestra
7) Shh! We Have A Plan
The award-winning Children’s Theatre Company, Cahoots NI, are casting a spell over young theatre-goers at the Crescent Arts Centre this Christmas as they bring the enchanting tale, 'Shh! We Have a Plan' to life.
Running until the 24th December, prepare to be enchanted and amazed by this unique production featuring magic, music, puppetry and lots more.
8) What the Ladybird Heard
Billed as the perfect show for Christmas, there are 30 performances over three weeks in the Pavillion Theatre in Dun Laoighaire. Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len have a cunning plan to steal the farmer’s fine prize cow.
But they reckon without the tiniest, quietest creature of all; the Ladybird has a plan of her own!

9) Winter Funderland
Christmas in Dublin just wouldn't be Christmas without a trip to Funderland and they are already getting some fantastic reviews.
Visitors can go ice-skating as well as enjoying all the fun and thrill rides for young and old children (and adults!)
10) Imelda May
Imelda May, the queen of Dublin big band music, performs in the 3Arena on Friday night, December 22.
Backed by her stellar band, Imelda May knows how to put on an explosive performance. Jumping from blues to jazz and rock 'n' roll, Imelda is a legend whose performances have to be seen to be believed and a perfect start to the Christmas weekend.
11) Go to bed early!
Santa Claus starts his journey on Sunday night and he knows when you're awake.
So, early to bed and have a wonderful Christmas.

Back in The Ark by popular demand, this Christmas, follow the heavenly harmonies of The Henry Girls into an enchanting world of winter!

2) Fossett's Circus
See the girls on the sashes performing Aerial Gymnastics, Amazing stunts with a Motorbike on a highwire, incredible feats of knife throwing and juggling, all tied together with the amazing skills and humour of Otto The Clown and of course, presented in true circus form by Marrion the Ring Master.
Daily performances in Tallaght Stadium until Jan 7th.
3) Beauty and the Beast
Ireland’s first professional touring panto performs in the National Opera House, Wexford from December 27th - 30th. Don't miss a combination of the biggest and most glamorous sets and costumes in Ireland as well as chart-topping hits!
