Pat has spent most of his career mining the unending depths of material that the people of Ireland provide.

From performing as one part of comedy duo D'Unbelievables to reaching the Irish charts with his hit song Jumbo Breakfast Roll to his latest stand-up show, How's Tings? Pat practically has a degree in Irish-isms.

However, you won't find the comedian jumping off the forty-foot on Christmas day nor will you see him gigging with Bono on Grafton Street on Christmas Eve. When it comes to the holidays, Pat likes to keep things simple.

"We always have an early Christmas dinner, an afternoon of movies and stuff like that, so we'll probably do the same again and go out for a walk on Christmas morning - maybe - but that's kind of it.

"There's normally a swim in the river down around the corner, for a couple of years it hasn't happened because of flooding but we'll always try and get down to see that - not jump in," he laughed.

Warm, chatty and quick to laugh, Pat spoke enthusiastically about his plans to bring his career to new heights in 2018 with his new stand up and two films that he plans to release in 2018. However, when it comes to setting New Year's resolutions, the Garage star says he has no interest.

"I never got into that. Maybe I did when I was 19 or 20, trying to give up cigarettes and all that kind of stuff - I haven't smoked in 20 years - but when I was younger I probably did try to give them up and do all that but failed miserably and probably because of that I just said no".

No New Years resolutions then but plenty to look forward to for the actor and comedian in 2018.
