The Irish Tatler Women of the Year Awards
Each year, the event celebrates the extraordinary achievements of Ireland’s most inspiring women in various areas ranging from business, entrepreneurship, music, literature, fashion, film and drama, sport, entertainment, public life and more.

This year, Norah has chosen Women's Aid as the nominated charity in order to raise awareness of domestic violence – a subject that she is all too familiar with. As she told Ryan Tubridy on The Late Late Show, Norah suffered through domestic abuse at the hands of her first husband, Peter.

She went on to have a very happy marriage with Richard Hannaford and their son Dara was born 17 years ago. Sadly Richard passed away six years ago following a battle with cancer.

Purple Carpet
October is domestic violence awareness month and participants wear purple in order to raise awareness. In accordance with this, the dress code for the awards show is evening dress with a hint of purple. Guest will even get to walk a purple carpet.

On the night
The inspiring event is going to have some memorable moments to celebrate women including; a capsule fashion installation featuring Irish designers, performances from Monica Loughman and her ballet troupe, Angeline Ball (The Commitments) will perform the Molly Bloom soliloquy from Ulysses, Comedian Aoife Dooley will be doing some stand-up and that's just the half of it.
