Ahead of his interview with Hilary Clinton on The Late Late Show, we got chatting to Ryan Tubridy about his favourite places to travel to in Ireland. Watch Tubs in the video above.

When it comes to having a Staycation near home, Tubridy says his favourite local spot is the pier.

"I like it because it's the sea breeze, cobwebs clear, beautiful sounds, a good programme or music in my ear - peace."

Looking further afield, the RTÉ presenter favours the west of Ireland with a particular love for Connemara.

"Through the village of Oughterard and out towards the twelve pins and into Freedom into Maam Cross, Roundstone, Ballyconneely, Clifden, the Abbeyglen."

"I love the West of Ireland especially and I love going to museums, I find great peace in museums like the National Museum or the Natural History Museum and the Art Gallery in Dublin at the moment is the place to be".

She was very happy to talk about Ireland, Irish politics and how much the country means to her and her husband.

"From the moment she walked into the room there was a warmth and humour I wasn’t expecting."
