Sugar Crash documentary maker Dr Eva decided to follow up last year's fascinating RTÉ documentary, Medication Nation with Ireland's Health Divide, which airs on RTÉ One tonight at 9.35pm.
The brand new documentary will explain why where you are born and raised dictates your life expectancy.
Speaking in last week's RTÉ Guide, Eva discussed why she made Ireland’s Health Divide and what she learned from the experience: "I was shocked by what we found".
"In the past I may have been too quick to draw conclusions.
"I wasn’t born with a golden spoon in my mouth but I was lucky to be brought up without needing too much."
"My parents divorced when I was very young so my mother was a single mother but after doing this documentary, I see how different it is for many single parents in Ireland."
"I now realise we shouldn’t be so quick to think that people can easily take control of their lives," she says.
"Many have so many other issues to contend with, like economic challenges, domestic violence, and health issues. In many cases, it’s beyond education and simply about coping, a question of survival."
Dr Eva's documentary Ireland's Health Divide airs tonight at 9.35pm on RTÉ One.
