Dr Eva Orsmond is set to return to RTÉ One with a brand new documentary  which will explain why where you are born and raised dictates your life expectancy.

In this week's RTÉ Guide, Eva discusses why she made Ireland’s Health Divide and what she learned from the experience.

"I was shocked by what we found," she says.

"In the past I may have been too quick to draw conclusions.

"I wasn’t born with a golden spoon in my mouth but I was lucky to be brought up without needing too much."

"My parents divorced when I was very young so my mother was a single mother but after doing this documentary, I see how different it is for many single parents in Ireland."

"I now realise we shouldn’t be so quick to think that people can easily take control of their lives," she says.

"Many have so many other issues to contend with, like economic challenges, domestic violence and health issues. In many cases, it’s beyond education and simply about coping, a question of survival."
