Maireád Ronan was a vision in red in RTÉ Studios  to launch the new season of Ireland's Fittest Family. As a mum herself, the presenter knows all too well how tricky it can be to juggle the responsibilities of work and home. Watch the video with Maireád above.

We asked Maireád what advice she could give to mums who are getting ready to start a new routine and get the kids back to school. In response, she gave the best answer possible. Hint: It involves a big cuppa tea.

"I think the main tip for the first week is to just sit down and have a cup of tea and enjoy the break because I find the summers with Dara more hectic than when he's in school," she said.

The Ireland's Fittest Family presenter says that a combination of summer camps and various activities changes up her morning routine throughout the Summer which leaves her missing the routine of the school year.

"I just find summers really tough so I think when the kids go back to school, the first week needs to be a break for mums and stay at home dads and then after that then, get yourself back into the routine.

What should parents do to keep themselves fit after the Summer break? Get moving.

"Stop drinking the tea and eating the biscuits and get out for a nice walk, jog, run, yoga class - do something, just move. Moving in the winter is the key."

Ireland's Fittest Family will return to RTÉ One in the Autumn. Check out the channel's promo below.
