Anna Daly on motherhood, breastfeeding & career plans

Anna Daly on the pressures of motherhood
Anna Daly on the pressures of motherhood

Life for broadcaster Anna Daly is a joyful rollercoaster with her three sons, her breakfast TV job on Saturday and Sunday AM and realising her career dreams, she tells Donal O'Donoghue.

On International Breastfeeding Week it's fitting that she shared her experience

"The reality of motherhood was pretty harsh," she says. "I don’t think anything can prepare you for post-baby,
trying to do everything right, fretting and stressing over every little thing."

"Trying to breastfeed and it not going too great: it’s a very emotional time after what your body and mind has gone through. So the first baby is tough and it’s a crazy time.

"Now I have baby number three and we’re so relaxed about everything, to the point where my mum jokes that Rhys will rear himself.

"It’s just that I’m not stressing over every little thing, whereas with James I was trying to do everything right and you can’t."
