Fair City star, Aisling O'Neill, talks to Donal O'Donoghue about Carol's trials, a life in showbiz, and motherhood in this week's RTÉ Guide.

"Being a mother is the best thing that has happened to me," says Aisling.

"I’m a single mum and Christopher is a great kid. Of course, it is challenging too but he’s my best little pal and I’m very lucky with him. It can be tough at times because you are solely responsible for a lot of things but so far, so good. Christopher is very understanding and he is a good little listener. He knows that I am doing my best, just as I know that he is doing his best. It is tough being a single parent but it’s tough for parents in general. It’s just hard to raise children these days."
