Lifestyle blogger Sue Jordan, of CherrySue Doin' the Do, spoke at BloggerConf 2017 recently to explain how she works with brands on her site.

We caught up with the single Mum to find out how she managed to put her two boys through college from blogging and what advice she has for up and coming bloggers.

"Jump right in, the water is warm", says Sue who insists that the blogging community in Ireland is a welcoming one.

Sue is clearly a huge advocate for blogging in Ireland and is hoping to encourage other women to get involved.

"Even though you're never alone, it's very lonely when you're a Mam at home on your own. It [the blog] absolutely snowballed, it was incredible.

It's such a warm community to be part of and to realise that there are other women exactly like you out there."

In fact, Sue told RTÉ LifeStyle that not only have fellow bloggers been kind but her audiences has been too.

In all her years of blogging, Sue claims that she has only received a total of two negative comments.

"I've had, probably, two negative comments in the past six years and I think that's because I don't pull any punches and I'm absolutely happy to stand up for myself."

While Sue says she still has a day job, it was her sideline work of the blog that got both her sons through college.

"I've put my boys through college through the blog alone; that to me, as a single mam struggling for a very long time, that's success to me."

In fact, the mum of two's blog has become a real family affair with one of her sons, Aaron, top right in the pic above, writing movie reviews for the site and her sister, Corrina, also joining the team to write travel pieces.

Corrina, who runs her own Facebook page as well as writing for Cherry Sue, has become a real inspiration to her sister.

"She travels the world with her five children under ten, that's phenomenal. And she shows people how to do it and it's exactly the way I do things. It's not about me, it's about how we can help you do it"
