You may have heard the reports on Morning Ireland on Radio One and tonight at 9:35pm, a brand new documentary series chronicling Ireland's housing crisis begins on RTÉ One.
Ireland is currently suffering through one of the worst housing crisis that the country has ever seen. It seems that the Irish public are either scrambling to find property that they can afford to rent or climbing out of negative equity on property they have already invested in.
Every day, the Irish people are facing soaring rental demands and crippling social housing waiting lists. Most troubling are the statistics that say 7,421 adults and children are in need of emergency accommodation.
On tonight's episode of Ireland's Property Crisis we will meet four people in crisis:
Selena
Single mother Selena is trying to find a new home to rent since her landlord sold her current property. Selena must leave the property by Easter Monday but the new Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) scheme has found nothing suitable in her area.

Colin
Colin is a Trinity graduate without a home. Although he has a job as a researcher in a library, Colin spends his nights searching for accommodation in different hostels.
Anna
Anna is currently in danger of losing her home. After her mortgage fell into arrears, her debt was sold on to a ‘vulture fund’ but Anna is hoping that the new mortgage to rent rules will mean she can stay in her home.

Sadlier family
The Sadlier family are paying rent on their house in Donnycarney while also trying to pay off the mortgage on a one-bed apartment they bought ten years ago.
