Last night on RTÉ One, Home of the Year returned to our screens for a brand new series. Our judges saw an architectural self-build in County Clare, a re-imagined cottage in south county Dublin and a Georgian apartment in Dublin city.
Ultimately, it was Esther Gerrard and Ed Coveney's beautiful Georgian home in South Dublin City that took first place. Ed and Esther bought the property from Esther’s brother in 2013 and transformed it from an eighteen bedroom B&B into three seperate apartments.
The family live in an apartment on the ground floor and basement of the house. Stripped back walls and hand restored sash windows are combined with a contemporary marble kitchen and bathroom.
Watch Home of the Year each Thursday evening at 8.30pm on RTÉ One and if you miss it, watch back on the RTÉ Player here.
