Ray D’Arcy - In one of his most wide-ranging interviews, the broadcaster talks to Janice Butler about family, Den days, and says his chat show is still ‘‘a work in progress’’.
"It’s coming together. I wouldn’t say I’m completely settled, but then I wouldn’t say I’m ever completely settled. That can be a dangerous thing because it leads to complacency.”
On matters closer to home, he said:
“Parenting is very difficult – you don’t know if you’re doing it right or not. You learn by your mistakes and then you do things you regret, so it’s difficult.
He added: "We wouldn’t be that tough on them but we’re not laissez-faire either. We’re somewhere in the middle."
"You want your child to have everything and if you are in a position to do that, why wouldn’t you? But yet
you want them to appreciate the value of things, so it’s a juggling act."
