Room to Improve is back on RTÉ One every Sunday at 9:30 pm. In last night's episode, we met Robbie and Julie from Darndale who have saved for over 20 years to buy the house of their dreams – a 1940s cottage in the picturesque north Dublin suburb of Malahide.
With a budget of €180K, Dermot’s clients hoped to transform the cottage into a spacious two-storey extension but the remediation costs are so high, Dermot can only deliver a single storey.
However, with help of his brand new quantity surveyor Lisa O’Brien, Dermot redesigned the extension, reducing its cost to a €30K overrun.
