First Dates Ireland: 3 Dating Rules
First Dates Ireland: 3 Dating Rules

First Dates Ireland is back on RTÉ 2 and we couldn't be happier! We absolutely love watching those awkward first date moments, the cheesy chat ups lines and of course the girly chats in the bathroom. Last night's episode taught us three very important dating lessons.

1. Don't order the burger
When it comes to the first date, dinner can be an absolute minefield. Garlic bread, spaghetti bolognese, soup and generally anything with sauce is off the table, however, we all thought ordering a simple beef burger and chips was a safe bet...until last night.

Both Paddy (19) (who dated Lauren - 19) and Delia (half-Irish, half-French model who dated blue-eyed Conor) discovered the struggle of the supersized burger on their respective dates. Paddy was left to admit: "I'm actually too scared to eat"!

Be careful when ordering ladies and gents, you never know when your date will make their move!

2. If you know its a no...
So you've got all dressed up, you've had the chats, you've enjoyed your dinner and the night is coming to the end but sadly, the spark just isn't there. There are a number of ways you can handle this and Timmie ignored just about all of them.

1. Split the bill. Don't make them pay if you have no interest in going further.

2. When the First Date Ireland team point a camera at you both and ask you if you would like to see each other again, YOU GO FIRST.

3. True love is just around the corner
Just when you thought you were out...First Dates Ireland pulls you back in. The dating game can be a tiring one.

Between the apps, the blind dates, being set up by friends, dressing up for a night on the town or trying to look casually stunning at 7am because there's a bae on your train - it's exhausting! But don't give up hope!

You never know when you'll find your lobster and last night's episode was proof of that with the lovely Lauren and Paddy.

First Dates Ireland is on RTÉ 2 every Thursday at 9:30 pm. Missed last night's episode? Catch up on RTÉ Player
