In tonight's episode of Operation Transformation, part-time hairdresser Marie Grace opens up to psychologist Dr Eddie Murphy about her motivation for joining the show.
The Limerick woman, who is mother to three-year-old Lilly Mai and eight-month-old Daisy, explains that in 2014 she gave birth to a little girl, Michaela, who sadly passed away a few days later. Marie Grace bravely shared her story with Dr Murphy and explained that her grief was a big part of her motivation for changing her life.
Dr Eddie Murphy congratulated Marie on being so open and honest, saying:
“You’ve opened up this conversation and you’ve opened up to support a lot of other women and families who have been through this silent grief."
Marie went on to admit that her family are her biggest motivation for losing weight and gaining a healthier lifestyle. Not only is daughter Lily Mai by her side as she works out but the Limerick woman says she feels as if Michaela is pushing her along in her journey.
"I’m doing it for her as well because I feel it is after I lost her that I really retreated into myself. So I don’t know... I feel like I owe it to her to get myself sorted as well. “
Also on tonight's show, the leaders head to the beach to endure another Dublin Fire Brigade challenge. The team must save five fake bodies from the sea, get them onto a stretcher and rush them to a waiting ambulance. Will they succeed in their heroic task?
OT leader Seán seems to be a changed man these days as he turns down his mammy's cooking for his own creations. Chicken-fillet-roll-loving Seán is big into meal-prep since starting his Operation Transformation meal plan and now he's cooking up a storm, much to his brother Darren's despair.
