Raise your hand if you have ever felt personally victimized by Amy Huberman's Instagram. Her life looks like an absolute dream of red carpet events, family time with rugby superstar Brian O'Driscoll and pun-filled brunches with friends. The IFTA winning actress has had a streak of success starring in shows like Can't Cope, Won't Cope and brand new RTÉ drama Striking Out. Not only that but the mother of two has also found time for a shoe line, a jewellery line, two books and she has plans to open a yoga studio. Oh, and did we mention she was guest editor and cover girl of Image magazine this month? Grand.
Don't feel too bad though, Amy says that she struggles along with the rest of us as a working mum and has had to deal with being turned down for roles in the past. "It can be a bit grim when you're facing rejection," she told VIP Magazine. We love Amy's down to earth attitude and the fact that she can fess up to going through tough times - but when RTÉ Lifestyle caught up with the actress, she insisted she's not complaining. Rather, it's a simple pursuit of honesty in life.
"I think sometimes it's nice to be honest and the people that I look up to are never afraid to be honest, honest about the process and the process doesn't always go to plan and I've had, yeah, I've had loads of times when I have't got stuff"
Yep, she's humble too.
You can watch Amy in brand new Striking Out on Sunday, 8th of January on RTÉ One at 9:30 pm. Catch up with episode 1 on RTÉ Player now.
