DUBLIN TRAFFIC

The Swords Rd is busy but moving inbound between Collins Ave and Drumcondra. Earlier delays outbound have eased on this route.

The NCR is busy eastbound just approaching Dorset St.

The North Quays are busy on Ellis Quay and Bachelors Walk.

The Grand Canal is busy eastbound from Portobello to Leeson St.

It's busy but moving inbound through Donnybrook Village.

Harold's Cross Rd is busy from Harold's Cross Park through to Leonard's Corner on Clanbrassil St.

There are no incidents or delays to report on the M50 in either direction.

CITY TRAFFIC
It's another quiet morning for traffic in the main cities, with the schools still closed for the Christmas break.

CORK:

A crash on the Lwr Glanmire Rd inbound near Silver Springs has been cleared and there are no further delays there.

Delays have eased approaching the Dunkettle Interchange on the M8/Dublin Rd and on the N40/South Ring Rd. No major delays to report in Cork City Centre.

GALWAY:

It's moving well again now on the N17 Tuam Rd southbound heading into Claregalway. In the city, traffic is very light at this stage of the morning.

Upr Newcastle Rd is closed at Moyola Park until 6pm Wed 1st Feb for works. Diversions are in place via Thomas Hynes Rd.

WATERFORD:

Traffic is moving well around Waterford city centre.

Lady Lane is closed for works until Sun 30th April between the library and the Bishop's Palace.

LIMERICK:


Traffic is moving well in Limerick City.

Works will take place on Parnell St between Davis St and Boherbuoy Rd until Fri 10th Feb.

NATIONAL TRAFFIC
LAOIS: There have been reports of an obstruction on the M7 Limerick/Dublin Rd northbound near J16 Portlaoise Centre.

LIMERICK/ CORK: Works are taking place on the N20 Limerick/ Cork Rd between Croom and Charleville until approx. Fri 20th Jan. Expect delays.

CORK: A stop/go system is in place for works on the N25 Cork/ Waterford Rd at Killeagh 24 hours a day until Fri 20th Jan. The works will then be in place from 9:30am on Monday to 4pm on Friday each week from Mon 23rd Jan until approx. the end of May.

LEITRIM: A stop/go system has been removed from the N16 Sligo/ Enniskillen Rd between Manorhamilton and Glenfarne Village until Mon 9th Jan. During this time, drivers heading west will use the existing N16, while those travelling east will be diverted onto a section the new road. Both routes will be signposted and the speed limit will be reduced to 60kmph for the duration.

WESTMEATH: Works are underway on the N52 Mullingar/ Kells Rd between Cloghan and Turin until approx. Sept. The speed limit on this route has been reduced to 50kmph for the duration of the works.

EVENTS
DUBLIN: Winter Funderland is on at the RDS until Sun 15th Jan. The Ice Rink is open 10am to 8pm daily with the market open 11am to 8pm daily. Funderland opens 2pm to 9pm Mon-Fri and midday to 10pm Saturday and Sunday. Delays can be expected through Ballsbridge, on Anglesea Rd, Simmonscourt Rd, Shelbourne Rd and Pembroke Rd. However, the heaviest traffic is likely on Merrion Rd.

DUBLIN: Big The Musical is on at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre until Sunday (7th). The show begins nightly at 7:30pm with matinée performances also at 2:30pm on limited days.

ROADWORKS
DONEGAL: Overnight works on the N14 Letterkenny/ Lifford Rd between Lifford Bridge and Rossgier will be in place until Fri 31st March from 7pm to 7am.

DONEGAL: Works are taking place on the N56 Link Rd at Kiltoy, Letterkenny (at the old Unifi Factory) until approx. April. Delays can be expected.

DUBLIN: There will be no access to Cookstown Ind Est from Cookstown Way (via Second Ave) until Sunday (8th) due to works. Diversions will be in place via the Old Belgard Rd.

DUBLIN: From 10pm, the free flow slip from the M50 northbound onto the M1 will be closed for works until 6am Friday (6th). Divert via J4 Ballymun, Old Airport Rd and Old Swords Rd (R132), rejoining at J2 Dublin Airport.


DUBLIN: Works take place on Ballyboden Rd at Glendoher Close today (5th) from 10am to 4pm. Expect some delays.

DUBLIN: Wellington Rd in the Phoenix Park is closed until Mon 9th Jan for works. Diversions will be in place.

1. Medium: Free flow slip closed overnight from the M50 northbound to the M1

The free flow slip from the M50 northbound to the M1 will be closed for works from 10pm on Thurs 5th Jan until 6am the following morning. Divert via J4 Ballymun, R108, Old Airport Rd and Old Swords Rd (R132), rejoining at J2 Dublin Airport.

2. Medium: No access to Cookstown Ind Est from Cookstown Way due to works

There will be no access to Cookstown Ind Est from Cookstown Way (via Second Ave) from Wed 4th to Sun 8th Jan due to works. Diversions will be in place via the Old Belgard Rd.

Works are taking place on the N20 Limerick/Cork Rd between Croom and Charleville until approx. Fri 20th January. Expect delays.

4. Medium: Upr Newcastle Rd closed at Moyola Park

The Upr Newcastle Rd will be closed at Moyola Park from 8am on Wed 4th Jan until 6pm on Wed 1st Feb for works. Diversions will be in place via Thomas Hynes Rd.

5. Medium: Closure of Coachford Rd for works

Rooves Bridge on the Coachford Rd (R619) will be closed for works from Tues 3rd to Fri 13th Jan. A diversion will be in place via the N22 Macroom/ Cork Rd.

6. Medium: Winter Funderland at the RDS

Winter Funderland comes to the RDS until Sun 15th Jan. The Ice Rink is open 10am to 8pm daily with the market open 11am to 8pm daily. Funderland opens 2pm to 9pm Mon-Fri and midday to 10pm Sat and Sun.It's closed Christmas Day and is closed early Christmas Eve (6pm) and New Year's Eve (8pm). Delays can be expected through Ballsbridge and Sandymount; on the Anglesea Rd, Simmonscourt Rd, Shelbourne Rd and Pembroke Rd. However, the heaviest traffic is likely on Merrion Rd. The RDS is serviced by bus routes number 4, 5, 7, 7a and 8, which stop outside the RDS on Merrion Road. Other routes, including the 46a, 145 and 39a stop on Donnybrook Rd at Donnybrook Stadium, which is a short walk from the venue. The RDS is also very close to both Sandymount and Lansdowne Rd DART stations.

7. Medium: The Coachford/ Farnanes Rd closed from Mon 12 to Fr 23rd Dec, and then from Tues 3rd to Fri 13th Jan

The Coachford/ Farnanes Rd (R619) is closed for works between its jcts with the Carrigrohane/ Macroom Rd (R618) and the local Aglish Rd, from Mon 12th to Fr 23rd Dec, and then from Tues 3rd to Fri 13th Jan, between the hours of 8pm and 8am.

8. Medium: Big The Musical at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre

Big The Musical continues at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre until Sat 7th Jan. The show begins at 7:30pm with matinee performances also staged at 2:30pm on limited days. The following Dublin Bus Routes all operate to either Pearse Street or Grand Canal Dock, the closest stops to the venue: 1, 15a/b, 47, 56a, 77a. The last bus departs at 11:30pm Mon - Sun. Traffic delays can be expected on Macken St, particularly after the show. The nearest stop on the Luas Red Line is Spencer Dock. From there patrons can walk via Samuel Beckett Bridge. The Grand Canal Square carpark is open from 7am to midnight daily. There are 150 spaces and 8 disabled spaces available. Other available carparks are at: Connolly Station, Jury's Custom House, the NCI, Dawson St and Setanta Place (off Nassau Street).

9. Medium: Navan Rd has outbound delays

On the Navan Rd outbound, there are delays at Baggot Rd jct and then from Auburn Ave jct out to J2 Blanchardstown.

10. Medium: Works on N52 Mullingar/ Kells Rd between Cloghan and Turin

Works are underway on the N52 Mullingar/ Kells Rd between Cloghan and Turin until approx. Sept 2017. The speed limit on this route has been reduced to 50 km/ h for the duration of the works.
