Neil Morrissey will be hitting our screens on New year's Day in RTÉ One's fantastic new series Striking Out with Irish actress Amy Huberman. The Men Behaving Badly actor is delighted to be back in Dublin to take his new role of barrister Vincent. We caught up with the actor to find out how he'll be spending his Christmas before the show kicks off on New Years Day!

"I do the cooking but this year we're not having turkey! My Mrs. used to live in America so we have Thanksgiving and we had a twenty-two pound turkey then and you can imagine how many days that took to eat!"

So what will the actor be cooking this weekend? A four rib of beef! Not the most festive of meals but Neil says that this Christmas will be a quiet one with just himself, his wife and her parents sitting around the dinner table which the actor says will be "lovely and intimate".

So will the New Year be just as quiet? Not quite. The actor's brand new show Striking Out premieres on RTÉ One and New Year's day and the actor will be celebrating in style.

"We head off to France and sit in our lovely little old farm house with massive fires and eat lots of food and drink lots of red wine."

Watch the first episode of Striking Out on RTÉ One on New Years Day, Sunday January 1, at 9.30pm.
