Halloween Thurles Festival 2016
This will be the 8th annual Thurles Halloween Arts Festival and the program is terrifyingly wonderful with some of the best national and international acts confirmed to perform this year. If you and your kiddies can't wait to celebrate in style, this is the right choice for y'all!
When: 28th-31st October
Where: Latin Quarter, Galway
What: The country's largest Halloween festival takes place in the Latin Quarter in Galway. There'll be loads of free events and activities with the Macnas parade from 5.30pm on Sunday 30th October sure to be a highlight.
When: 29th October
Where: National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin
What: CBI's Hallowe'en Extravaganza with author Dave Ruddin and spooky storytelling from 1-2pm on 29th October is not to be missed! You'll have a frightfully good time!

Where: Spleodar Hallowe’en Arts Festival, Dún Mhuire, Nenagh
What: CBI have a second great event in Nenagh on the 30th of October from 12pm-4pm. Their book doctor will give you a prescription for a new book that you can then take to your local library or bookstore and will give kids entertainment that will last for the rest of the midterm.

Samhain 2016 Haunted Forest Walk
What: October 30th
Where: Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are putting on this event at Marlay Park, Dublin
What: Get dressed up in your scariest costumes and head along to Marlay Park on the hour from 3.30-7.30 on 30th October. Enjoy the sound effects and smoke machines that will enhance the fun on this 1.7k haunted woods walk! Trail is suitable for both wheelchairs and buggies.
Wristbands must be collected in advance at the dlr Co Co Markets in Marlay Park on Saturday 22nd or 29th October.

When: Saturday 29th Oct & Wednesday 2nd November
Where: Merrion St Upper, Dublin 2
What: The Natural History Museum is a great place to go any time of year but their Halloween Inspectorium: Snakes and Spiders! sounds especially fun. It will run Saturday 29th October form 11am -1pm
You can also learn about ultimate predators hunting habits in the reading area upstairs on Wednesday 2nd November from 11am to 1pm.
No booking required for either but there may be a short waiting period.
IMMA - Irish Museum of Modern Art
When: Kilmainham, Dublin 8
Where: Royal Hospital, Military Road, Kilmainham, Dublin 8
What: Why not get creative together and take part in IMMA's family workshops where children and adults can enjoy going to an exhibition first and then make some art together afterwards. Head along to IMMA reception at 10am on Wednesday the 2nd or Thursday the 3rd of November.

National Museum of Ireland – Country Life
When: Wednesday 2nd & Thursday 3rd November
Where: Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co Mayo
What: There are two great events on in the Country Life Museum. On Wednesday 2nd of November at 2pm there's 'A Very Viking Halloween' where you can hear all about Samhain traditions and explore the Hoard and Sword museum before making your very own shadow puppets to tell a Viking Halloween story.
On Thursday the 3rd you can make your own Viking helmet from 2 -3 at 'A Very Viking Helmet'.
