Operation Transformation is on the hunt for five new leaders to inspire the country into living healthier and happier lifestyles. Today presenter Kathryn Thomas and radio partner Ray D’Arcy joined four of last year's leaders Lucy Dillon, Noeleen Lynam, John Conmy and Clare Scanlan to launch a nationwide search for new leaders for the upcoming series.

The leaders from series nine have lost a collective 11st 3.5lbs since starting on the OT Plan. The leaders posed with sacks of potatoes to show how much weight they’ve dropped to inspire others to get involved this January!

Operation Transformation presenter Kathryn Thomas says she is so proud of the show she can't believe it's already in its tenth year! Kathryn goes on to say that she thinks the show can only get bigger and better.

"I think for 2017 we're going to get a lot more public participation, we're going to get a lot more groups and it's going to get more interactive."

Kathryn says that the Operation Transformation is a great way to kick start a healthy lifestyle and the progress won't stop once the camera's stop rolling. She says that last years leaders have been a great example.

"They have lost 11 stone between them since January, between the four of them, it's unbelievable"

This year, for the first time ever, Operation Transformation challenged celebrities to take part in the show and the results were terrific. Elaine Crowley, Karl Spain, Gerald Kean, Katherine Lynch and Brenda Donohue spent three weeks as leaders and Kathryn was delighted with how they embraced the programme.

"I just think people really respected the fact that they were honest because they came out, they bared all, cameras were in their homes, and just like the rest of us, they have the same struggles."
