Speaking about the ploughing championships, it's clear that Gaelgóir and funny guy Hector is a huge fan of the event:

"I've been coming to the festival for years, it’s great, the Ploughing Championships, and it’s evolved into a lot more. People go, what is the Ploughing Championships? And it’s like, everything you want for your house, your home, and life in general. It’s great".

Hector is also looking forward to another event...TG4 20th anniversary:

"TG4’s birthday is officially the end of October, 20 years since Michael D Higgins got behind that station, there was fireworks and motness, it’s been a great station and it’s in the psyche, the DNA of Ireland".

Hector also brought a píosa gaeilge to the championships when speaking about his new show, Hector Central: "Tá meas mór agam go maith go dtí TG4 posse. Tá siad fiche mbliana...breithlá fiche bliana go TG4. A thosaigh mé amach le TG4 le blianta ó shin.

"Tá mé ar an mbothar arís - Hector Central - brand new series, Thursday nights, 10pm, TG4 all the way through November and December. Ten weeks through the jungles of South America, Central America, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Savador, Guatemala, and we finished in Belise".

Hector visited the jungles frequented by the man at the centre of hit TV series Narcos - Pablo Escobar. Find out more and watch the interview below:
