New research launched today by Irish Life Health, Ireland's newest health insurer, shows that while the quality of their health remains a top priority for Irish people, many believe that challenges with modern lifestyles still need to be overcome.

Who better to act as ambassador at the launch than host of Celebrity Operation Transformation, Kathryn Thomas. Speaking at the launch, she said:

“We’ve come on leaps and bounds as a nation, but despite this, the research also shows that we continue to face challenges with over half of us struggling to find time to look after our health and fitness.”

With Celebrity Operation Transformation in full swing, a show documenting five celebrities' efforts to improve their health, RTÉ LifeStyle caught up with Kathryn to ask how this season differs when dealing with famous Irish faces.

"The celebrities would be a lot more, how shall I say....vocal!" Kathryn admitted. "They're very aware that they're on camera. And the fact of the matter is they were approached to do the show as opposed to the leaders who put themselves forward for it."

"I have to say they're all doing incredibly well. They're all there because they want to make their health a priority. It's so brave to put yourself forward like that, especially when you're in the public eye. Little did any of them know this time last year, that they'd be standing in their knickers in front of the entire nation."

"So it's a brave thing, they're sticking to the plan. They're getting the support from the public, and I think that's spurring them on."
