1. Festival Wear
While we've already covered the best festival locks, make-up and accessories (and we bet Thursday's Get the Look will be festival fashion related) we still need to talk about the packing check list! The basic clothing essentialls will always include these top 10 items:
- 2 Pairs of denim shorts for the daytime
- 1 Pair of jeans in case the rain wins out
- 2 Pairs of warm leggings for when the cold wins out
- A selection of colourful t-shirts that you don't mind being leaving behind
- A light-weight yet trendy jacket
- A good quality rain jacket along with some good quality suncream (Thank you Ireland)
- A warm pair of knee-high socks
- A good aul pair of wellies
- A funky pair of sunglasses
- A cross-body bag to hold all your festival gear!
2. Hygiene
Music Festivals aren't typically known for their cleanliness which means a host of hygiene products are essential. We recommend stocking up on wet wipes, hand sanitizer, a pocket sized packet of tissues as well as your travel toothbrush, toothpaste and mouth wash.
Top Tip: A mini can of deodorant can be a life saver to have in your handbag throughout the day!
3. Food & Drink
Electric Picnic will be home to over 100 food stalls offering everything from pulled pork sandwiches, potato dumplings, fresh made taco’s and delicious pizza. There will be an Artisan Food Market as well as the Theatre of Food hosting some of Ireland's top chefs.
However, it is always a good idea to bring some snacks when you're outside for a day! We recommend packing some handbag appropriate snacks to keep you going throughout the day such as protein bars, fruit, nuts, popcorn and rice cakes. Overnight campers can bring Greenheat Base Camp Cooker and Disposable BBQs to their tents to roast marshmallows at night or sizzle sausages in the morning!
Top Tip: Bring a re-usable water bottle to re-fill throughout the day. Hydration is key!
4. Personal Safety
Festivals are intended to be the experience of a life time for all attendees but unfortunately things can go wrong and the whole weekend could end in tears! For the best possible festival experience, we recommend the following top safety tips:
- Create a buddy system with your friends
- Agree to a meeting point in case you get lost
- Don't wander off by yourself
- Write down friend's phone numbers on paper
- Bring a portable power bank to charge your phone
- Wear a watch in case your phone battery dies
- Make plans to meet friends at certain times
- Be sure to reach out to staff if you have any concerns
- Drink plenty of water throughout the day
- Keep your bag firmly closed when your in the crowds

5. Festival Gear
Flower crowns, face paint, body jewels, oh my! Festivals are the place to have fun with your look! Pack your bag with your craziest clothes, your boldest make-up and throw in a wig for good measure. Festivals are the best places to experiment with glittery make-up, crazy hair dye and anything with tassels so have fun with it! Make sure to send your best festival outfits to our Twitter!
Top Tip: Get in touch with friends to spread the cost. I'll pack the feather boas if you bring the body glitter?
