Ivan Fahy is an androgynous model and LGBT activist who regularly hosts workshops for students on a range of topics, such as gender, sexuality, consent, being LGBT, sexual health, body confidence, and anti-homophobic and transphobic bullying.
Thinkhouse, a youth marketing agency, have recently worked with Ivan in their Thinkhouse X series which acts a platform for up-and-coming creatives to produce something totally unique that show cases their individual talent. Jane McDaid, Founder of Thinkhouse said:
“When Ivan initially approached Thinkhouse, we knew that a collaboration was on the cards. Our creative teams met with him and learned that, beyond his modelling ability, he had an incredibly brave, powerful story to tell. So our film, creative and photography teams collaborated to produce a series of photographs and a short film that brings Ivan’s story to life.”
Jamie Brennan, Thinkhouse’s Production Director added:
“Ivan’s story is all about ‘being IVAN’ so we tried to tell that story in the most natural way – whether he’s at home or on set at a shoot. His personality was reflected in the vibrant colours throughout. Ivan speaks eloquently and is disarmingly honest - we wanted to capture this and share his amazing story through film.”
Ivan first gained fame as "The boy who graduated in high-heels" in 2014. Since then he has used his platform to educate people on consent and gender fluidity as well as hosting events such as 'Gender Fabulosity', his gender liberating fashion show at NUIG with proceeds going to Amach, a volunteer run organisation which represents and advocates on behalf of the LGBT community in Galway. Ivan has even spoken for TEDxGalway on why 'Diversity is Reality' which you can watch here.
