The singer was shocked as to how much of a commitment Strictly Come Dancing was. "I went over to Strictly with a set of golf clubs," he told RTE Lifestyle, "and I said 'Sure the days that I'm not busy, I'll play a game of golf'. I didn’t even have time to look at the clubs! It was full on."
Daniel went on to say how the show affected both himself and his wife Majella as they embraced a new and healthier lifestyle once his time on the show ended: "I lost about ten pounds when I was on Strictly and that was only for the five weeks. Then Majella and I went on a cruise in January, and we were away for four months - we decided we would eat what we wanted, but you can still eat healthily, so we went to the gym and exercised every day, nearly."
