The singer is delighted with the effect that the campaign has brought so many tourists to his home county of Donegal. The popular man, former Strictly Come Dancing participant, spoke to RTÉ LifeStyle and said: "I don’t know myself who decided to create the Wild Atlantic Way, but they deserve ten medals.

"Because it is definitely bringing people from all places to visit all along the coast and up to Donegal...people know they’re coming because of the Wild Atlantic Way...It’s tremendous that we have such a great initiative.

He added: "I was watching John Creedon shows on [RTÉ] television a couple of nights ago, it’s just magnificent. People need something to follow, and even [when we were filming the TV series] The B&B Road Trip - the people that we met last year said they have more people coming and staying.

"If people have a plan of something that they want to do, they follow it...It’s a great idea."

Creedon's Wild Atlantic Way is on RTÉ and you can catch up on episodes on the RTÉ Player

The second series of The B&B Road Trip, which also features Daniel's wife Majella will be on RTÉ.
