Yoga In The Park 2016

Yoga In The Park, the opportunity to practice yoga in a beautiful environment.
Yoga In The Park, the opportunity to practice yoga in a beautiful environment.

For the second year, the beautiful surroundings of Malahide Castle & Gardens will host "Yoga In The Park". Organised by Hot Yoga Dublin, the event will include a 75 minute yoga class, lots of spot prizes for participants and music. Everyone from 16 and over is welcome, yogis and non-yogis.

The ticket costs €20 and all proceeds go directly to charity. Last year, they managed to raise €10,000 and they hope to do better this year. The first charity they chose is LauraLynn Children's Hospice, the same charity as last year. "I have personally been around the facility which is non government funded so they rely on all fundraising and donations to provide the invaluable care and support for the children and their families. Lauralynn offers the most incredible facilities to care for and house these super star children and their families. It provides a home from home with magic facilities for the children, which many may not have an opportunity to access otherwise" says Jane Nolan from Hot Yoga Dublin.

This year, they also choose to support Chernobyl Children International Foundation because "it’s close to many of our students and teachers heart's. A number of them also travel selflessly year after year to Belarus to care and volunteer their services in the orphanages. This year marks the 30th anniversary of this horrific disaster which impinges on the life of thousands upon thousands of children" she added.

This is the perfect opportunity to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21st 2016. And for those who never practiced it, this is the occasion to be curious, to discover yoga and its benefits and to give money to charity at the same time.

Yoga was developed in Northern India, it reached our western shores through the decades and has become really popular. "Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature, a holistic approach to health and well-being" added Jane Nolan.
