The Dublin City Centre refuge Daisyhouse is fundraising at Croke Park this Sunday and is looking for your help.
Speaking to RTÉ LifeStyle, CEO Orla Gilroy said: "We're on a big drive now to raise funds to keep our doors open to provide support services to women who are in desperate need, before we head into the winter months.
"This continued support will help change women's lives for the better."
Interested volunteers should contact Rita at Daisyhouse on T: (01) 454 6078 or email rita@daisyhouse.org and will need to be available from 12.30pm on Sunday, August 16.
Daisyhouse is one of the charities that receives donations via the award-winning App FoodCloud. The App has garnered a lot of positive attention since it was created in 2013 by Iseult Ward and Aoibheann O'Brien.
The App works by teaming up charities in need of useful food donations with companies who have excess food produce on a daily basis. They have a number of volunteers who collect the food and bring it to the respective charities. RTÉ LifeStyle went along to FoodCloud to see how it all works - check out our video above. Tesco teamed up with FoodCloud a year ago, setting a target of one million meals being provided to charities across Ireland and recently they reached that goal.
