FoodCloud - The people who make it a life-changing app

The award-winning App FoodCloud has garnered a lot of positive attention since it was created in 2013 by Iseult Ward and Aoibheann O'Brien and it's well deserved as they are helping 100's of charities every year.

The App works by teaming up charities in need of useful food donations with companies who have excess, food produce on a daily basis. They have a number of volunteers who collect the food and bring it to the respective charities. RTÉ LifeStyle went along to FoodCloud to see how it all works. Tesco teamed up with FoodCloud a year ago, setting a target of one million meals being provided to charities across Ireland and recently they reached that goal.

One of the charities in need of and very grateful for their help is the women's refuge centre, Daisyhouse which is located in Dublin's city centre. However the housing association is is in need of your help.

Daisyhouse is looking for volunteers for this Bank Holiday August weekend Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 of August to help with their fund raising collections at the Pavillions Shopping Centre in Swords. If you are interested in supporting this great cause, please e-mail rita@daisyhouse.org or call 085 866 7706.
